There are some options:

Method 1 -

Takeout - Download all files 

then upload to the new Google Account.

Google Drive has a setting that will automatically convert files to Google Suite format.

Method -2 

Open your primary Google Drive account

Right-click on the file or folder and select Share that folder with the new Google Account 

That way, you can still access the files. Over time, you can choose to delete the files or transfer ownership gradually if required.
